In the early nineties, there were virtually no spas in Singapore and the Asia Pacific region. We had introduced an innovative lifestyle spa concept by establishing Phytomer Spa in 1994, at Singapore’s Fun Island - Sentosa. It was the Republic’s very resort based full facility spa, offering the entire spectrum of spa services including hydrotherapy. High technology equipment like a computerised hydrotherapy bath tub and all in one Seaweed and Shower Capsule (First in Asia) was installed.

The founder of the company, Mr Peter Sng has extensive experience in spa management and is widely recognised as a pioneer in the spa industry. He is instrumental in the setting up of two industry organisations that had generated and created both media and consumer awareness.

Mr Peter Sng is the first and current elected president of the International Spa Association’s Pacific Chapter (ISPA).
An association of spa industry professionals based in the United States. This is the world’s foremost spa industry association with global membership. Mr Sng is also on the Board of Directors of ISPA. Major activities include planning and organising the Spa Industry’s Biggest event each year - ISPA’s Asia Pacific Summit.

The inaugural event was held in 1999 which was hosted by Singapore. 2000 was hosted by Phuket. 2001 was back in Singapore. 2002 was in Rotoura, New Zealand and 2003 will be in the city of Tapei, Taiwan. More significantly, the governments and tourism associations of the host countries support and endoese this event.
